OAOP supports a professional complaints process that encourages fairness, accountability, and responsible review of concerns related to member conduct or professional standards.
Complaints Process
The Ontario Association of Osteopathic Practitioners (OAOP) accepts complaints relating to member conduct, professional behaviour, and matters connected to professional standards or ethics.
The purpose of the complaints process is to support accountability, promote professional integrity, and help maintain public confidence in osteopathic practice. Complaints are reviewed in accordance with OAOP policies and procedures.
When to Submit a Complaint
A complaint may be submitted when there is concern regarding a OAOP member’s professional conduct, ethical behaviour, representation, or other matters relevant to Association standards.
Complaints should be made in good faith and should include clear, factual information to assist the review process.

- Professional conduct concerns
- Ethical concerns
- Misrepresentation of credentials
- Concerns related to professional standards
- Inappropriate behaviour in a professional context
- Concerns regarding use of OAOP designation or status
What to Include
Your Information
Provide your name, contact information, and your relationship to the matter being reported.
Details of the Concern
Include a clear description of the issue, relevant dates, and the name of the member involved, if known.
Supporting Information
Include any supporting documents or information that may assist the review process.
Review Process
Once received, a complaint may be reviewed to determine whether it falls within OAOP’s scope and whether sufficient information has been provided.
Where appropriate, the matter may proceed through internal review steps in accordance with Association procedures. OAOP may request additional information where needed. The Association aims to review complaints in a fair, respectful, and responsible manner.

OAOP aims to handle complaints in a manner that is fair, respectful, and consistent with Association procedures. The complaints process is intended to support appropriate review while recognizing the importance of professionalism and procedural fairness.
